Vos sos un velludo: Pony hair mania

Velludo means hairy in Spanish, in case you were wondering.  And, in case you haven't noticed fashion has become very hairy lately.  Everything from bags, shoes to even bracelets have been covered in teeny tiny pony hair that makes everything look more lustrous and cozy.  A great alternative for those long Fall days ahead.  Enjoy!

Turban Roundup

I realized that a round up of turban headbands would not be a bad idea for those who want to try them.  After all a true fashionista must have fun trying on different trends and ideas.  Enjoy!

Hair trend: Turban Headband

It's not new this trend of turban headbands but, it's more and more popular every time.  Especially during summer when ladies tend to leave their hair carelessly dry au naturale.  There are two types of turbans, one that covers the full head, a closer interpretation of the Sikh turban and the turban headband which is the case in point here.  I'm kind of obsessed with both styles.  The first because it would be of great help in those days when I'm just too lazy to wash my hair and the last one for when I wash my hair but, want a fashion statement!  How about you ladies, would you use a turban?

Style inspiration: Ada Kokosar

Ada Kokosar in a Stella McCartney dress and Kira Lillie necklace
You could say I have an ada-diction for Ada Kokosar's personal style.  She is a stylist and a fashion consultant whose style renders me feeling ashamed of my still-in-progress-style.  Her style is everything I want to have, minimalist, modern, sophisticated with the right amount of masculinity that sets her apart and above many other fashionistas.  Reading more about her in the Telegraph I found out we like the same designers and for the same similar reasons.  This only makes me admire her more.  Enjoy!
From Telegraph, interview by Ellie Pithers
Who are your favourite designers?
Nicolas Ghesquière for his talent for looking forward and making the most sophisticated, modern look; I love his structural shapes, sleek overcoats and statement shoes. Riccardo Tisci for his vision - I've known him since he started and he has achieved so much. His woman has a very unique, strong personality and a mysterious allure. Phoebe Philo for her effortless, relaxed modernity. Marc Jacobs because I really appreciate his styling talent. Raf Simons for his search for detail…read more.

Fall 2013 Fashion Trends: Cut out boots

Phillip Lim
I'm still vacationing in Mendoza, Argentina, a beautiful and relaxing wine region that is a must see and experience for the lovers of wineries, picnics under grapevines and horseback riding on the foothills of the Andes mountains. Does it sound like a dream to you? I promise I'll be posting pictures along with a small and first-time-visitor (me) guide. But for now I just wanted to share with you a trend that I spotted on the runways of New York Fashion week that has everything to do with women's greatest love: shoes! Long and mid-calf cutout boots were, per say, wrapping many of the model’s legs on the runways. Fall 2013 might as well be warmer. Enjoy!

9 Fashion Pieces you need in you wardrobe now

Here is a small list of must-have fashion pieces I put together for the fashionable girls who like to be au courant with fashion trends.  I tend to add one or two trendy pieces to my wardrobe once in a while just to keep me from being boring or predictable.  Not that it works all the time but, I don't mind learning from my mistakes - and trust me it happens often!  In no special order, A bomber jacketa statement sweater, a pair of masculine loafers, a lace up or military boots, fancy pants, a small shoulder bagfunky sun glasses, statement necklace and continuing with the baseball theme a baseball cap.  Enjoy!

Peplum Pants

One of the coolest things that's happened to fashion lately is Peplum.  It's feminine, whimsical and beautiful!  It's nice to see it's not going anywhere anytime soon, instead is spreading to other important wardrobe pieces such as pants.  All of these models here would look great with a cropped top.  Don't you think? Enjoy!
1- Zara, 2-  Preen, 3- peplum skinny pants, 4- Peplum legging, 5- Alexander Mcqueen, 6- Peggy Peplum pants, 7- Crinkle Apron trousers

The It pants

Some people credit the first "it pant" on my list to Michael Jackson's iconic black and white pants, others to Celine Fashion House.  Regardless of who you want to thank for them and I think we should all do, the ability of side track pants to make anyone look slender and well-built is indisputable.
You can dress it up with a lace top and keep it real riding a bike. :)
The second on my list is the Leopard print pants.  It's the kind of print that when wearing it I prefer to keep it in the dark color side, like the first one below.  I think that by keeping it in the browns and blacks and staying away from the yellowish ones it's still easy in the eyes and elegant at once.
Love the way both of these ladies wear them.
Margherita Missoni below, kept it fun and young.  The cropped kind on her.
And finally and perfect for the starting Fall season in the US it's the leather leggings or leather panel pants which are stylish and modern.  I bought mine a year ago at Club Monaco and I've been rocking it ever since.  I feel like every year I have to write about leather pants because they are classic and stylish.
What's sexier than leather and fake fur?  Below, me, myself and I.

Tough Nails

Above, my nails with a caviar effect.   I decided to do it only on two fingers, each on one hand to try for the first time.  I loved them!  Long gone are the days of plain and discrete traditional French manicure so are the days when bravery and boldness were only proven by the first explorers climbing Matchu Pitchu.  Leave it to the nails to show your inner adventure.  One of the things that caught my eyes in the runways lately were the decorative nails all over.  I can't wait to try the reverse manicure, fist image below, top left.  Enjoy!
Clockwise from top left, reverse manicure, geometric nails done with Nail Art Pen by Sally Hansen, Adele's nails with some glitter and caviar nails by Ciate can be purchased at Sephora.
Clockwise from top left, striped nails can be done with nail wraps by Nail Rock or Sally Hansen art pen, Kate Spade polka-dot nails, colorful French manicure and the latest one, velvet nails by Ciate.
