Tino Zervudachi's Paris Home

I posted Tino Zervudachi's home back in February and recently found three more images of his Parisian home and wanted to share with you.  This home is one of my favorites and it stole my heart to keep it.  His elegant and masculine studio above is equally stealing doing it.

Boy what a house this is!  The Parisian home of Tino Zervudachi, partner at Milinaric, Henry & Zervudachi is a dream come true.  Full of interesting and classic furniture, modern art and top notch photography is just what the doctor ordered to everyone who wants to live with style and substance.  I'm a big fan of 1940's furniture and looking at those Jansen pieces Tino Zervudachi has in his home makes my jaw drops big time!  Enjoy!

A stunning chandelier reigns above a comfort sofa, a modern painting and a white sculpture on top of a column.

A 1940's Jansen sofa is freshen up with bright colorful pillows.

Two different Louis XVI chairs juxtapose in front of a steel and bronze semainier and modern paintings.  Just perfect!

Love how the touch of red on the campaign bed and the mobile makes this room far from too serious.

This is an amazing bathroom.  Just the coffered ceiling and the red kilim are enough to take my breath away.

The House Hotel in Istanbul

One thing that inspires me the most is Architecture, especially seeing how different countries interpret it while injecting their own personalities.  I think that is extremely smart and I'm so happy that that's being the case.  The House Hotel in the hip Beyoğlu area of Istanbul was renovated in 2010 and Autoban, the firm responsible, preserved the 1890's building by keeping its structure as untouched as possible and also maintaining its beautiful parquet floors, hexagon coffered ceilings, boiseries, and Mosaic. 

Part of the ceiling of this hotel is a hexagon coffered ceiling which is repeated on some areas of the floors.  Please note how the small sconces have the room numbers on them which then reflect on the walls.  How cool!

If it weren't for the glass table the size of this room would be perfect for kids to play around.  The beam ceiling is loudly calling my name.

The white curvy side table works as a space for the eye to rest from the rectilinear of the elaborate boiseries and headboard.  Love the scale of the lamp and the simple detail of the brassy dove on the wall.

The TV of course had to be white.  If I live in Istanbul one day, cross your fingers, I'll be knocking the doors of Autoban. 

Love, love the excess of molding and the appliques used to make the boiseries.  Everything is about continuity in this hallway. 

In the bathrooms hexagon shaped mirror again mirrors the ceiling.  The two leg sink, by the way, deserves a post of its own. 

In both images above we can see clearly how beautiful architecture does not need much to reign.  Someone said that a good room should be able to look beautiful naked.  I agree!

Apparently the hotel has a "butler" style service but I would much rather be at the roof top enjoying a delicious Turkish breakfast overlooking The Galata tower.

Kitchen of the week: Luis Bustamante

Before this kitchen it was hard to imagine a home kitchen that would look like a cozy country club restaurant.  Love love love the way the open leggy banquette makes everything look more open.  A fantastic way to lighten up the closed cabinets.  If it weren't for the two fridges in the back I would not think this was a kitchen, perhaps a bar area... or part of a family room?  I don't know... I'll take whatever was left over from it!

Kitchen of the week: Yellow Cabinet Kitchen + Coffered Ceiling

 

Waking up to a Kitchen with bright yellow cabinets is like being greeted with a "good morning sunshine" every single day.  With such an impressive antique ornate coffered ceiling, a simple and delicate pendant is the smartest thing to do.   If all the previous failed, for sure a black and white polka dotted floor will do.  Enjoy!
