Studded walls

I've said before how I think that upholstered doors is the ultimate attention to detail.  That is of course if there are no upholstered nailhead walls nearby to compare them to.  I can't imagine all the work and effort that goes into creating one of these amazing studded walls.  Especially those that form specific patterns over the wallpaper or fabric.  There is already wallpaper designed to look like studded walls making the process a lot easier, and none the less beautiful.  Enjoy!

Unusual Color Combination in Interiors

Peach with magenta or pink with mango are colors that not always come to mind when decorating.  Leave it to Muriel Brandolini, Jeffrey Bilhuber and Steven Gambrel to teach us how.  Muriel Brandolini does it in a very subtle way, everything kind of blends in.  Her colors do not have much to do with nature as much with her own creations.  Jeffrey Bilhuber on the other hand does it in a more contrasting way.   Steven Gambrel selection of blues is not any kind of blue and the outcome is always uber-sophisticated.  They are all master at doing it.  I love their result.

Beige baseboards and moldings is not nough for Muriel, she rather paint them in either dark or saturated reach colors.
Pink, peach, raspberry and light green make this room look like a piece of cake.
Here, Jeffrey used purple, lilac, bronze.  Beautiful!
Purple paired with mango comes easy out of Jeffrey Bilhuber's hands.

Grrr... Climbing Leopard

The Climbing Leopard rug designed by Diane Von Furstenberg for The Rug Company has a very good vibe from the 70's that I easily relate to.  Love it how Jeffrey Bilhuber used it in a hallway and don't they look so perfect on the stairs below, also?
We are expecting guests this afternoon and we've been setting everything up for when they come to have a great time.  Tomorrow, it's all about relaxing.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Claude Wasserstein's Chic Home

Some people are lucky and others are ridiculously lucky.  Claude Wasserstein is among the latter, not only for having the freedom to hire three top designers such as Jacques Grange, Jeffrey Bilhuber and Daniel Romualdez but for having both of best worlds, an elegantly chic apartment and an incredible garden, both in the City.  When I was finalizing reading the huge September issue of Vogue, notice using a pillow underneath to cushion my legs, I came across this refreshing breath of air from a rooftop apartment with an amazing outside garden complete with a table that seats up to ten people.  Exceptional!  The splash of yellow throughout the house is evident and the layers of a colorful palette is uplifting and appropriate for every season.  It's a long weekend, yippieee! and I'm planning to enjoy it with my family, locally and relaxed.  Have an excellent Labor Day Weekend everyone!
Isn't that Ikat carpet absolutely beautiful?  I really, really dig one!
Having a rooftop like this with artificial grass to walk on,  real flowers, lavender, mint and snapdragons that grow beautifully out of boxes is a New Yorkers wildest dream!
